Situated on the eastern part of the Danube River, Hungary has been an Eastern-European powerhouse for intense and distinctly rhythmic classical music. The capital city, Budapest, sits squarely on the Danube, inspiration for art and culture for centuries as embodied in Hungarian composers such as Franz Liszt, Zoltan Kodály, Franz Lehár and Béla Bartók. Tonight, we salute the music of these artists. Franz Liszt's First Piano Concerto will be performed by 2013 Van Cliburn Bronze Medalist Sean Chen.

This concert is sponsored by Norman Forrester and Bill Griffin and is dedicated to the memory of Ticket Office Director Lisa Baker.
