A City Lights Concert

Jacomo Rafael Bairos, conductor
Ben Folds, piano and vocals

Multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter/producer Ben Folds will be performing his 22-minute classical Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, which he composed in 2013 and which was released to critical acclaim on his most recent record So There.

In addition to Folds' concerto only performance, the San Diego Symphony will also perform music from other American composers Leonard Bernstein (Overtures from West Side Story and Candide) and George Gershwin (An American in Paris).

San Diego Reader recently spoke to Ben Folds in depth about his piano concerto and the experience of composing it.

Note: This concert is recommended for mature audiences.

Ben Folds and the San Diego Symphony Orchestra will also perform this concert Friday, February 5th at 7:30pm at the California Center for the Arts Escondido.
