Women have been a part of America’s great musical art form from the beginning. In honor of Women’s History Month, Jazz @ The Jacobs is proud to present this concert featuring some of today’s most vital jazz artists: violinist Regina Carter, bassist Katie Thiroux, alto saxophonist Grace Kelly, jazz vocalist Dena DeRose, percussionist Tina Raymond and jazz flute legend Holly Hofmann. Popular local trio Besos de Coco will open the concert.

The San Diego Union-Tribune has just published a fascinating interview with program curator Holly Hofmann about the rewards and difficulties experienced by women in the world of jazz performance.

The San Diego Symphony Orchestra does not appear on this program.
