CHAMBER ORCHESTRA WITH DAVID DANZMAYR
featuring Beethoven's Symphony No. 7
A Chamber Music Series Concert at the Jacobs Music Center

David Danzmayr, conductor
Musicians of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra

JOHANN STRAUSS, JR.: An der schönen blauen Donau (On the Beautiful Blue Danube), Op. 314
VILÉM TAUSKÝ: Coventry: Meditation for String Orchestra
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92

The San Diego Symphony welcomes back Austrian conductor David Danzmayr for a rare full-orchestra concert in the Chamber Music Series. This will be a very diverse program, opening with Johann "The Waltz King" Strauss, Jr.'s Blue Danube Waltz, and then pivoting to a somber remembrance of the horrors of war in Czech composer Vilém Tauský's Coventry, a "Meditation for String Orchestra." The concert concludes with Ludwig van Beethoven's famously energetic Symphony No. 7, including the Allegretto movement used so effectively in the 2010 film The King's Speech starring Colin Firth.

SPECIAL THANKS to Sam Ersan, Founder & Sponsor of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series.
