Description

JEREMY DENK PERFORMS BACH'S GOLDBERG VARIATIONS

A Chamber Music Series Concert at
The Jacobs Music Center
The Chamber Music Series is generously underwritten by Sam B. Ersan.

Special Guest: Jeremy Denk, piano

One of America’s most thought-provoking, multi-faceted, and compelling artists, pianist Jeremy Denk is the winner of a 2013 MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, the 2014 Avery Fisher Prize and Musical America’s 2014 Instrumentalist of the Year award.

On this program Mr. Denk will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's complete Goldberg Variations (BWV 988). This very exciting program will be performed without intermission, and will be the only repertoire on the program.

Note: this program has changed from previously published materials.

The Rage Monthly recently ran a fascinating interview with pianist Jeremy Denk.

It turns out Jeremy Denk has written extensively about the Goldberg Variations: for The Guardian, NPR and The New Republic.

His own performance of the Goldberg Variations has also been reviewed by The Chicago Tribune.

Here are a couple of video clips of pianist Jeremy Denk speaking about Bach's Goldberg Variations.
